Washed out by white?

Then brighten up with some high octane hues.
Bright pops of colour add energy and fun to any home. And perfect if you happen to be renting and can’t go painting any walls!
The easiest place to work vibrant shades is in the kitchen. Whether you pick one statement colour, or clash a few together is entirely up to you. Bright silicone utensils from the likes of Colourworks and Zing are too good-looking to be kept hidden away in a draw. Colourful tea and sugar caddies, as well as eye-popping tea towels are also a must. Check out our Essentials kitchen electricals for toasters which really pop! Our favourite kitchen shades? Lime green, zingy orange and hot pink.
The living room
Go full throttle with a bright sofa, or dabble with striking cushions. Yellows and blues work brilliantly for larger rooms and look great paired with soft greys. When planning a new living room decor have a focal point, whether it be a painting or photograph, or an item of furniture then work the colour scheme around that.
The bathroom & bedroom
Forget greying-white towels, and try something a little more vivid. Why not create a bale of different contrasting shades for maximum impact? Then pick your bathroom accessories in statement shades.
Wake up feeling energised by ditching the white linen in favour of a bright print or pattern. Complement this look with a stand-out lamp and of course brightly coloured pjs.
Editor’s tip: When creating my bright home colour scheme, I chose lime green as my lead colour – and used hits of green throughout my home. I then teamed with contrasting shades such as orange, coral, yellow and blue in different rooms. This central highlight colour then makes the overall look feel seamless and thought-through rather than thrown together. And I promise you, brights really do make Monday mornings feel that bit better!
